Thursday 26th June

Finally the wait was over; we could eventually get back to some racing. Over the duration of the break between Pembrey and Croft we had been doing a lot of work on the cars handling issues and spent a lot of time on development which had not been done before being it the only Corsa Turbo ever raced before. So I was very hopeful for this weekend and was sure I could get a good result.

On Friday testing it rained in both our sessions and to mine and the teams amazement I was five seconds quicker than anything else in our class so it was looking very good so far.

In qualifying I managed to get pole position for both races. In race one I was on pole by 1.5 seconds and race two by 0.8 seconds so we were a country mile clear of anything else and it stayed that way during the race.

I achieved a win in the first race by 10 seconds and also grabbed fastest lap and in race two I managed to get fastest lap again but unbelievably from leading the race by over 10 seconds with 15 minutes left to go the clutch exploded leaving me no drive what so ever so I was forced to retire on my eighth lap, allowing the Clio to win and extend his championship lead.

All I can say is that the team did a fantastic job that weekend getting the car to where it is now and I'm really looking forward to Castle Combe in a few weeks where I'm making sure I'm going to get two poles, two wins and two fastest laps.
