Race Diary

2007

2008

Monday 4th August

Eventually the race I had been waiting for, it was the Donnington Park round of the year I had been fastest in testing all weekend and proved it all over again by qualifying on pole for both races by over a second and a half which gave me tons of confidence for both Sunday races.

In race one I managed to hold the lead into the first corner and the same for the whole race. The car felt good but we were suffering with brake failure throughout the race which was slightly daunting. But never the less I brought the team another well deserved win.

For race two I managed to hold the lead again into the first corner and even after the biggest slide all the way down the crayner curves I still managed to hold onto the lead for the first three laps until I lost my brakes at the chicane which allowed the Seat to slip into the lead and even after a perfect pitstop and the fastest lap the Seat and I were matched on pace so I just had to hope that he would make a mistake so that I could get through, but he didn’t and I came home with the car intact and second place. The Clio was another non finisher which meant that I had now taken the overall lead of the series by 3 points.
