Here I was again. For the first time in over six months it was time to jump into my car and head out for another qualifying session. I had my doubts about how well I was going to do as the previous three days testing hadn’t gone so well as my car was suffering from electrical problems that was causing the car to shut down whilst on track. But anyway I put all that behind me and went out and did the best that I could and after the team had made some major changes to the car we improved my lap time by half a second and I qualified fourth for both races.
In race one I managed to grab third spot of the line whilst fighting with one of the Clio’s for most of the race. Until the Seat in front of us lost his brakes and fell off. But the car was feeling nice. It wasn’t to understeery and not to oversteery, but there was the one problem that we were all suffering from. Lack of tire grip and brakes, luckily enough my brakes didn’t give out on me and I managed to grab second spot in the first race which I was quite pleased with.
Race two, again I was fourth on the grid but I had made a problem for myself as in I hadn’t managed to get sufficient heat into my front tires on the warm up lap so off the start I got a load of wheel spin and letting the others get away. I was straight through to third and held that position for the race but the car was much more challenging to drive this time around. The team had changed nothing on the car since race one but I was struggling to get any rear end grip so the second I touched the brakes the back stepped out on me. I managed to hustle the car to the end of the race and picked up third place so over the weekend a second and a third, I was quite happy.
